Is there a difference in bolt pattern between 01-03 & 04-06 CS
I know the 01-03 CS is 4X100... Was just told that the 04-06 CS carry 4X114? |

04 is 100 AFAIK
But I not gonna jack up mine just to test
It dont mek sense for it to be 114
04 and 06 is same as 01 and 03, just face-lifted
Any of allyuh willing to use a CK2 (4G15) A/C compressor, it may be slightly cheaper
When it comes to auto A/C I ent know much, as I never had to screw with it
Ah still waiting on a certain ex-CS3 owner from Bago to tell meh bout cleaning the cabin filter
But if the bearing bad, say it shell and you can remove it, then go strong
6 years ago my CK2 A/C compressor started making noise when running but cooling normal, today it still making d noise and cooling like normal
When d A/C man explain d complexity of the repair to me and my poor a$$ pocket back then, it was realized to be a case of d candle being more expensive than d funeral
So I just let it be
My point after all that useless banter (come ole fart ah giving yuh one) is that another compressor may work
Look around for one |

According to the first A/C guy (Chaguanas) I visited, the compressor gone bad and it is not d bearing as my mechanic suggested. He say it is internal and he can't repair it.
The A/C guy I visit in Chaguanas told me I could get a Universal compressor but he would have to build a bracket and run new hoses etc.
As you on the idea of using a CK compressor, what about another vehicle brand compressor that is a lot cheaper, say from a B14...
ZeroOne suggested a guy who might be able to repair it up POS side, so when I up POS side this week I will check him and see what he could do.
I will keep you all posted.
Let me know if the Nissan idea is plausible. |

I for one will be amused if the B14 compressor works, im sure that the lancer compressor is of a higher quality and built to last longer, but then again that is just speculation not fact.
You could always ask the ac tech when you see him. |

The fact that it come from a B14 means nuttin about its quality, except that it cheaper
If it fitting then use it
Not sure who is the manufacturer of the compressor on eiher, but they should both be japanese
Get one from another orion engine (4G13, 4G15), will be an easier fit |

My CS taking a long time to start. It's beginning to get worst, I hear a click sound in the engine bay when I turn the ignition but car would not start
When I keep fiddling the key it would then start up like normal.

Update: Pops carried the car to a garage and bought some part for the starter. Car starts up good now.
Thanks! |

I will ask the A/C tech about it.
Hopefully he honest...I guess I could probably ask a few other technicians just to get a couple other opinions. |

QG, great to hear man.
fras, remember the different bolt patterns in the 01-03?
could be the same for the 04-06.
slick, hold some strain bro i went thru that same stress already.
thought my bearing went thru, end up being the coil burn out so bad the compressor had to replace entirely.
i suggest every 01-03 CS owner go check this out because the compressor coil burns out from normal wear and tear and is heightened when u use ur AC right thru under heavy conditions. the repair of this depends on how much damage the compressor takes when the burn out happens. if u ketch it in time then its an easy fix, if not prepare to shell out $3500 or thereabouts + regas.
if u are noticing ur AC acting weird get it checked out before u run into futher problems.
my symptom was while driving i noticed the cooling was coming and going and after awhile it jus stopped. i turned off the AC and turned it back on and it worked for awhile and then that was it. this happened heading north from sando. drove straight to RyanAir *sigh* yes RyanAir...and they broke the bad news.
and jus to throw this in the mix....AC work is $$$, be prepared. there is no getting away from it. |

i would like to hear more about that coil issue.......... venum u suggesting that we get a new coil for the compressor before the old one goes bad...... is it easy to get and how much are they ? ( dunno anything about ac systems)
on my side it is stress remember my car was giving starting problems and idle issues b4 ........... well guess what it's back......past few days the car has been starting lazy really slow.... sometimes it would click a few times and then eventually it would decide to start.......... on one occasion it gave me the low idle.... today tried to go out and when i tried to start it was only clicking ..... a few times it gave me one click and then silence then it would start back clicking.....it moving like the battery dead..... but i got the battery tested not too long ago and they say the battery good..... i dunno yes...... and my mother pestering me abt the car giving trouble.....she wants me to send the car into dm ..... so i guess if they car doesnt start tomorrow i gonna send it....
i am also getting a noise when i slightly turn the steeringwheel to the left while driving, sounds like a stone in my tyre, but there isnt one there. the noise doesn't happen when i turn it to the right... kinda wierd and i have no clue what could be making the noise....
yall still needed a parts #?? i found back an old bill from my 100k service |

ZeroOne, il remember to pm you if ever i have any AC problems. And i didnt do the repair by RyanAir. They and KingKool checked it out for me. I did something even more insane to pacify that particular AC problem.
TURBOT, its hard to explain if u not familiar with how the Compressor works, i myself only understood it at the time when they were trying to show me the damage, and well you have to trust the advice of professionals if u dont kno.
your starting and idle problems have to be an electrical issue and if the battery is good then you should check the alternator if u havent done so already. a new battery wouldnt show signs of a failing alternator but it would definately shorten its lifespan. while i admire your patience, if i had a local lancer giving that amount of headache i would carry it straight to DM. yes it would cost more but at this stage you are stumped for solutions.
you would have to describe that noise when u turn a little bit more coz it can be the stone sheild getting in the way, the brakes too low, the plate around the hub getting in the way, a loose cable strap, or something in the tyre.
and yes please post your part numbers |

yeah idle i thinking so as well....... the car always used to go dm before , it is only recently i started doing little things on my own...... might as well send it in to let them sort it out ........ and the plus in that is if it happens again after so called fixing it i could always carry it back and complain till they fix it....
i will scan the bill tom with the part #'s
ammmm about the noise it is just a tic tic tic i hearing from by the right wheel when i turn left ........... hopefully nothing bad ...... will let them loook at it tomorrow... |
