This is Gilmore in the famous Citizen Escort trying to come to grips with the 6 cylinder BMW, how many of you remember this car, it was very fast, had a Ford BDG engine, same as the Geese. None of the local cars were a match for the 6 cylinder BMW, it had displacement and power, over 350bhp i think.

IN dis pic, Cheekes is badly outclassed by the more powerful BMW:

Look carefully at this pic, I didnt have my zoom lens with me this day so its kinda small, this is Keith Singh in the Ford RS2000 Escort. I took this pic here because evry lap he would throw the car sideways in this corner, always on opposite lock.

This is de Professor (Clive Sugden) giving some lessons. Anybody remember the famous race between the professor and Richard Longman from the UK. Longman came here with one of his famous minis from the UK, the hype for the race was that he had won 99 races straight with that car in England and he was coming here to make it 100. That was a now legendary encounter with Sugden in the locally prepared Rustop Datsun 1200 battling against the famous Longman mini and Clive ending up victorious in the end, breaking the Englishman's winning streak. That was one of the best races I ever saw, it was so close from start to finish. This race stamped Sugden as one of Wallerfields best.

This was taken at the treet race in San Fernando, its Frankie's ZAKSPEED Escort which I spoke a little about in the other thread.

This is Ashmeed in the Federal Datsun at the same race:

THis is a picture of one of the cars that came from Colombia with the Porsches, if I remember corrrectly, I think it had a V8 engine and puit out around 600 to 700 hp. I think it was a TRANSAM class car. Unfortunately this is the only pic I have from this race, I shot an entire roll of 36 moving all over the track to get different angled action shots only to discover the next day that my film slipped out of the takeup spool and none came out. That was my worse experience at wallerfield. I cuss for two months.

That was the Monza from coloumbia. Was a totally diiferent sound for wallers circuit racing when you were accustomed to hearing only 4 cylinders and rotaries.
