The NEW Yaris...big looks upgrade

Postby wagonX » March 27th, 2006, 3:42 pm

Saw the Yaris ad in the paper today so me and my pardner went to test drive it. The car aint half bad...actually it pretty good. The basic at Toyota is $115 k and the fully loaded is $132K coming with 15" rims, spoiler, 8 airbags, fogs VVTI 1.3 engine (doh worry de car light) AND factory flair...looking real good plus de speedometer goes up to 200 km...8-)

The car accelerated pretty good for the specs and cornered nice too, only thing is the headroom in the back but everything else on de car right up. Its a big improvement from the last.

saw it in the showroom.........Yaris has hit the big-league. Its almost the size of the corolla now! The 1.3 VVTi hatch looks like a screamer. Has some nice ergo features as well............and what was interestiung to me was how much space there is in the engine bay!!!!!

^^^ ent

but still, I think the Yaris looks good now, almost mini-camry like.

Can you imagine the price for the Evo X if it ever comes at all?

If the yaris is soo big now.....i wonder what they hell they gonna do for the 2007 Corolla?? Looks like a reaction to the way the civic evolved to compete in a larger car segment.

Yeh Toyota trying to lock down all ranges...actually there is a 1.5 Yaris...however it will not be available here beacause it would compete with the corolla.

Heard in the grape vine that there will be an outfitting of the new Yaris with the 1.8 VVTi 1zz-fe engine. 132hp and 126 lb/ft. Looks like you were right with the Yaris moving into the Corollas price point. The 2007 Corolla looks like its going big time with a 2.0L engine and a rumor of a 3AZ-GTE 300hp 2.5L Turbo engine option.

the yaris is hands down the best small car out right now, i've seen with my own eyes that they have done at least 140k without disc pads replacement, and no engine trouble, body or suspension, the most ive actually seen was a few that were in the bad road areas wit some rell rough up the back shocks burst, but major problems that caused a stir for field technical report to be issued were none really... it is a rell best buy for great comfort...

the car is nice..i bought one almost a month now.

But the driver position is really odd, like sitting on a height, and the place where u rest your left foot while driving is really uncomfortable. I have found myself placing styrofoam underneath it to get a better "rest" for my left foot, still have'nt found the right fit for my foot yet.

This wasn't picked up in the test drive as i really didn't drive it long enough to pick up anything.

Man my aunt have an older yaris. Not this one or the one before, the oldddd one. Dont know the year.

Anyway, I went from curepe to toco and back and make some spins. When we reached home, the 8 digital bars for the gas it has, the second one JUST went down as we reached home so it was now displaying 6 bars....3/4 tank

I was in shock, and said I must buy a yaris immediately. Thats ridiculous value for money there.
