Turbo Cars and A/C Question

Postby TriniGT » June 4th, 2005, 1:58 pm

Just curious how other people that have turboed their cars, how the air condition works for them. I have a Primera and after turboing it the AC does not seem as cold. I thought it may be because of the heat fromt he manifold so I wrapped the AC line but it does not seem cold on warm days. At night it is better but still not cold, I have gassed it and check for leaks but still not cold. Who can I check to have my AC tested and fixed to have some nice cold breeze on those hot days?

try this, go by an a/c person and let them put the pressure gauge on it, put on teh a/c and watch it, throw water on the condenser and see it drop the pressure....

this is what i went thru, it seems that the intercooler blocks air from cooling condenser and radiator is heat too, so it just heats upmore, i'd suggest two 10" fans to cool the condenser, it'd be cool, mines was freezing when i did this.

Best place to go is by Dave Ramdass (652-7250) on Cipero Rd. opposite Prem's Bar. I went to Ultra Cool, Dyna Cool, Stay Cool and some place in Montrose and spent close to $5k trying to get my A/C sorted out. It worked for a few weeks each time then same probs (not cooling). And believe me I've tried most of the diagnostic techniques to test cooloing. Went by Dave...no problem since! That was 4 years ago.
