A/C Problems

Postby Stixer7 » May 31st, 2005, 8:01 am

The Air conditioner in the elantra not workin good at all..

Had it checked by an a/c place nearby & they told me the Dryer was bad.
They also told me $800 to fix(new dryer & gassing)

Does anyone know about this? Is this a good price?

If the nearby place was not CCL (King St opposite Boys Gov't) then go there. Most honest & reliable ppl I know.

Dryer should be around$100 also change the expansion valve one time, then vacume and re-gas.

Get a second quote from the guy behind Grand Bazzar on the east west side.

ok guyz u can get a dryer for about $100 but thats a normal flare or push on dryer, you have to work according to the fittings your car has....an original type dryer can cost as much as $600 for dryer alone....to gas up a car with 134a is around 350 but right now theres a world wide shortage on 134a gas since they phasing it out...., the newer gas is 415b which can be mixed with 134a ...but not with R12. 415b is alot cheaper than 134a , anyone interested in a 50lb cylinder i have them for around $550, the 134a is around $1600 because its so hard to find
