just wondering since most diesels have thier pump calibrated to inject max fuel at about half engine speed, say 1300 rpm which gives full load at 2600rpm engine speed. if i wanted to create this full load at 4000rpm engine speed can i modify the pump to inject my fuel at say 2000rpm to shift my torque at 4000 engine rpms?

yes maybe a little but more but what i really want is to shift the max torque rpm
ok lets say for instance the engine is rated at

129ft.lbs @2600rpm

i want to make it

129ft.lbs @4000 rpm
theory being my injection pump injects the most fuel at 2600rpm but i now want to to inject at 4000rpm

Would that not make u loose your low end Torque that the engine produces by getting max torque at a higher RPM...it wud be like a honda engine....where torque is made mainly in the vtec Band!....i dunno jus asking
