where does the one by the dipstick go?
it looks like the one that should be vented with a small filter or going to the intake |

| That one by the dipstick is a "breather hose" and it goes from the valve cover back to the intake manifold i believe |

No there is normally some oil vented from the valve cover. Usually it goes to your IM where it gets burnt. If that hose isn't connected, then the oil is still going to vent but instead of getting burnt up in your engine, it's just venting inside your engine bay. |

That hose is a check valve that allows proper venting of the crank case. It runs directly to the intake manifold. If you have excess oil going through that (which wont be enough to be indicated on the dipstick) then it will be burning in the intake manifold.
Fixes, an oil catch can between the Valve cover and the intake manifold will eliminate oil going into the IM. This may be the case, but i can tell u one thing, it will keep you IM really clean with the catch can in place. |

is not scotch tape, its a cable tie to prevent the intake from moving around the place.
Guys, thanks for all the info, i will check that hose out. But janfar, from what you saying i gathering this is normal and not a problem and should happen on other cars like mine as well, but strangely they dont do this |

| Well, it a give sometimes. The early evos are chronic for this, thats what i run a catch can. You will have to check other guys with similar setups as yours. Their are many variables involved that can cause this to happen. Not everyone will see this. |

| I remember we took off the intake manifold from the car and the part where the four holes mounts up to the head, around those 4 holes and inside them was quite oily. Is that normal?? |

| Thats the oil coming from the valve cover. It is normal sadly, hence the reason why most ppl install oil catch cans... |
