Headlight or harness problem?...SOLVED

what happening my car was by the mechanic some weeks ago to do a conversion and they unharnessed the engine....but was takin too long so i took it back..but in doin so i encountering a problem..

what happened when i got it back and put on the headlights (HId's) it was flickering slightly..but i let it passed then 2 days later it started flashin all over the place the driver side stopped workin eventually so i changed the balast thinkin it was that...and it worked fine for a while

the next day same problem occurred but with the other side so i changed that ballast as well...thinkin that wud have resolved my issues but to no avail

and right now if i put them oon they come on for a while and then the 2 of them come off completely and if i drivin sometimes they flicker like strobes....i dont know what can be causin this is it a HID problem?...or can a part from the harness not be wired properly?...

because it's only in the headlights alone for the HID's i'm gettin this problem

the bulbs may be going
connect the ballasts directly to the battery and see if they give you the same issue

try this:

put back the stock bulbs and see if it also happens ......if it happens that means it has something to do with the old original harness

if it not flickering attach the HIDs and run it direct without the old harness (ah switch if you could)

and secondly relly check them bulbs Laughing

so now u have two spare ballasts?

a loose fuse once melted the holder in a friend's car.......the dash lights and headlights would give problems now and then..........i took it to an electrician and the cost was about $40 to repair it...............

in a case like this u check the main things as Hook suggested: switch, wires, connectors and fuse..........basic troubleshooting.

Man I had a problem once with my high beams not working, but before I tried all kinda ting with the switch or buying a new pair of Silverstars, I took a listen to the relays and found that one wasn't clicking on with I flashed 'em.
Draw for the multimeter and realized that it's getting power, but it's not working. Cool. Changed relay but a week after, same problem pops up again.

Opened up both relays (good thing I didn't get around to emptying that bin in the garage) to find the plastic holding the switch contacts at the end of the coil melted and warped so that it couldn't reach to close the circuit when the coil was activated...both relays. So, time to check the socket.

On closer inspection of the socket, turned out that one of the spade connectors had somehow opened up a bit and the relay pin was just wiggling around in there and sparking, causing excessive heat (there were slight scorch marks on the socket) which caused the relays to malfunction like that.
Couple squeezes of a needle nose pliers later, problem solved, relay pins are nice n' snug in the sockets and the problem has never resurfaced.

The moral of the story: start with the basic stuff first Idea
