|
|
I currently have an EK4 with a B16A.
Can a Prelude or Accord engine fit in the engine compartment?
Additionally, can the new model engines for new civics fit in the old EK4?
What sort of modifications have to be done in either case in order to make them fit?
Thanks. |

Nothing. Just want more torque and hp....not just a few extra hp from a minor upgrade.
What you think? Waste of time? |

the h22 will fit...coincidentally supastarr has a mount kit available for sale,so it'll be more or less a direct bolt in |

Cheapest option:
-B18c block, replace pistons with type-Rs
-bore out to 81.5mm (or 82mm if you adventurous)
-Get someone to build it properly for you
You would be reusing your b16a head/cams/transmission etc
You won't have to buy any mounts/axles/ecu/gearbox
I figure it can be done for around $8000 installed... that is of course if you can find a B18c block
If not ls-vtec build will give you the torque you wanted at the price of some rpm
B18c is not the torqueiest motor out there, but its enought to get a EK4 moving, and should be a nice bump over that b16a
BTW all the new engines honda makes are crap, with the exception of the venerable K-series |

| Do you need a larger fuel pump for a larger engine, or can I still use the old fuel pump for the B16A? |

JDM_GUY,using back his B series axles seeing H are longer
live67,stick with you B16a take the money you was gonna swap either jus swap for B18b bottom end. and minor bolt on and a tune. that should make you happy for now other than that go boost dun the talk. B16a better than most men admit.
put aside 15k and you more than running a certain silent DC5 ITR |
