The question is simple:
Is the stock temperature gauge on the instrument cluster sufficient to monitor water temperature or should an aftermarket water temperature gauge be installed? |

Why not?
Stock temperature gauges are usually damped...they either read normal or go into the hot zone when the car is overheating. They don't really give a progressive reading of temperature the way a good quality aftermarket gauge would.
I guess if you have a highly modified engine then it might be worth your while to install an aftermarket temperature gauge. On a stock engine, it might be a bit of an overkill. |
