would the Exedy Stage 1 Organic Clutch Kit (08801A) work on my S20 gearbox???

gearbox is bolted to a D15Z4 engine at current

yes that will work with your application

Disc Outer Diameter 212mm (8-7/20in)
Spline Teeth / Major Diameter

20T / 22mm

CX; DX; EX; LX; SI; VX
works with "L4; 1.5L, 1.6L; Non-Turbo; Gas(D15B7; D15B8; D15Z1; D16Z6)"

S20 EG series S40 was EK D series.

personally NO. My friend got a kit recently and he had some problems lines up but something was wrong.

It will work based on part number and info provided from Exedy. What i was mentioning with my friend is he got one for his DOHC lined up perfect. Time to drive he had no clutch he reinstalled like 3 times same thing, eventually put back up his original ACT set up and he was good. I think user Paz on the forum might have tried this already you can consult him also.

paz, kazim: lasted 5yrs, my d15, is on its 3yr, sold 3 others all very happy, i got clutch and fidanza flywheel kits from a guy on ebay,
