yep this true...

then 3 days later the light will come on again...

What TTTL does:
- Unplug the wires to the diesel filter
- Turn ignition switch to ON
- open the drain valve
- pump the primer pump until all water is out
- close the drain valve
- plug the wires into the diesel filter

What I'd recommend:
- buy a fuel filter
- ensure the engine is off
- unplug the wires to the diesel filter
- open drain valve
- pump the primer pump until all water is out
- open fuel filter canister
- remove fuel filter
- remove canister from vehicle
- thoroughly (and carefully) clean inside of canister
- dry inside of canister (paper towel, compressed air or sun light)
- install canister in vehicle
- install new fuel filter
- close canister
- turn ignition switch to on
- pump the primer pump until diesel comes thru the drain off valve
- close drain off valve
- keep pumping primer until it becomes very hard to press
- plug wires back on the fuel filter
- start engine and let run for a few mins

Spliffington, usually the will come back on in a short time period. If this happens follow the procedure i outlined. That fixed it for me.

he may also have too much water in his fuel tank...which means all of the above are short fixes.

help much appriciated blesss....

and savin ur self d hassle of makin a drain plug and takin down the tank. u cud just push a hose to the bottom of the tank (wen it has been at rest for a while) and u can get a idea of how much water and muck is in there jus my 2 cents... bless

u know how long i driving my hilux with the fuel filter light on.....since about july last year.....when the filter needs replacing it still blinks until it is changed, then the light remains on again.....i even took down my tank and cleaned it. there was alot of sludge buildup....i can;t fill the tank right up again, because diesel leaks out through the plastic cover i think....i kinda lazy to take down the tank again to fix it...lol

i'll go try the reset thing with the ignition and see if it works.....

SBTT, dont blame the vehicle...blame the fuel.

This is the same problem biggy had a few weeks ago.

toyoman, glad to hear the light finally off after almost a year.

I'd also recommend you inspect the canister in addition to just changing the filter. If its dirty, remove it from the vehicle and clean it.

yup, everytime i change the filter i blow out the canister with air, so i am sure it's clean...
