With the majority of RORO vehicles coming with leather upholstery, I thought that I would start this thread to review some of the products on the market.

I personally am a great fan of Auto Glym (premium English stuff) products so I use the following offerings from Auto Glym:

Autoglym Leather Cleaner

This is a gem of a product. just spray on the upholstery, spread around and allow to stay for a few seconds before rubbing with a clean, soft cloth, then wipe down with a damp cloth.

I have used this product quite successfully to remove almost all dirty spots on my grey leather upholstery.

I have encountered only a few stains that it could not remove - scuff marks from the rubbing of shoes against the leather.

the dirty spots are the ones created on the seats from constant use and contact with dirty clothes etc.

I use this to clean my upholstery; seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and door pieces, before I condition them.

TT$70.00 - Carplus on Cipero Street, San F'Do

Leather Cleaner contains specialised cleaning and deodorising agents to safely clean and freshen automotive leather upholstrey. Unlike harser detergents Leather Cleaner has a neutral pH formulation and will not remove the essential oils which keeps leather supple and prevent surface cracking. Use in conjunction with Autoglym Leather Care Cream to preserve the life of your leather upholstrey.

To condition them I use:

Autoglym Leather Care Cream

This is incredibly easy to use - just rub in, allows to penetrate and then give a light buff.

The instructions on the bottle say to rub in using a soft cloth, but I find this method ineffective and wasteful, as the cloth absorbs a lot of the cream.

So I do it my way; pour some on my hand (bare hand or using rubber gloves) and then massage into the upholstery.

Much like rubbing down someone with massage oil\sunscreen Twisted Evil

The product spreads quickly, evenly and covers all the upholstery

When done the upholstery has a dull sheen.

TT$100.00 - Carplus on Cipero Street, San F'Do

Leather is a beautiful and durable upholstrey material. To keep it looking its best requires regular care and attention to avoid stiffening and cracking. Autoglym Leather Care Cream is a carefully blended emulsion containing soaps and natural oils to protect and moisturise. Use to replenish the loss os essential oils and preservatives caused by evaporation.

Both these products do not produce a high chemical odour which makes using them quite pleasant.

Also because of the ease of use of both products, the entire cleaning process (for a mildly dirty car) is ~ 2 hrs

What do you other guys who are serous about the interior care and appearance of your vehicles use on your leather upholstery?

for the vinyl parts of teh dash - Mothers Upholstery and Carpet cleaner

hint: do not let this stay too long or dry while on teh dash

for the wood grain finish - just a wet cloth or a light soap added to plain water

for the leather covered parts of teh dash - leather cleaner
