yeah tuners i hv a 2002 nissan bluebird sylphy & hv notice the a/c system not blowing as it should so i took out the filter just behind the glove compartment can this flter be washed in a mild soapy solution? :( just askin!! :roll:

i'm not a pro but its probably the filter needs a cleaning or your ac needs to gas up when mine stop blowing cold after a while i carry it and dey gas it up and service whatever etc and it cold again

this i wanna know if you can actually wash the filter?

you can wash the filter and let it dry

use normal water pressure to wash out the dirt from the filter.

wash against the direction of filtration to prevent dirt from further being stuck into the filter

use very mild detergent and let the filter dry out before replacing

u can but the water opens up and makes it even harder to blow air through

i washed mines and d a/c workin a lot better now. Is a dam gud ting i do dat cuz i went and price one today by the motorist and d man say it costs fakin $345. can sum1 explain how dat lil ting cos so much. d original under hood air filter doh cost so much and dat more detrimental to vehicle operation..wdf

^^ Yeah, but the a/c filter helps clean the air YOU'RE breathing. It's pricey yes, but still, maybe you should consider the purchase.

washing the filter helps about 50%, to get it working real good and free of any smell you need to take it to an a/c shop and let them remove the evaporator/coil unit and clean it out.
you will find all kind of hair, fibers, mold etc that gives the car whatever odor it has. this may be the best cleaning action you would have ever done on the car.

alrighty... i see we goin off on a tangent.. so when my windows down i am breathin a/c air still? anyways, maybe i'd invest in one

Hmm, ah must really try this, ah find the a/c in my pathfinder not blowin as it should, the compressor also takin long to kick in, especially after a cold start.

PPL is there an area where the filter is usually located......or does it differ?

in mines it is located just in the area of the glove compartment.
