the TS is a 1.6, the WRX is a 2.0

and yes jj16, the TS isn't a fast car. it's more safe than the others though.

scene boy fad's..well amm so okay i doh mean same as in same exact i mean same as in is nah like de sameting as in parts and wat not..like how u mite find a SR18 and ah SR20 the same or someting like tha...i jus thought was more or less the same..

as in the TS was jus like the Non Turbo version to the WRX nah..if u know wah i mean..

so can't u jus like turbo a TS engine?? like with normal parts or someting..like a turbo mani.a turbo..etc.

or it doh have parts for it like the turbo manif.

Well its a good question but i dont know the answer to that yet, i.e is there bolt for bolt compatability of the manifolds etc.
Anyhow you take it you will waste money and it would be better to swap in an intact WRX motor, since if you turbo charged the 1.6 with WRX parts you would still have to do complete aftermarket tuning and engine management, and the 1.6 compression ratio and strength of internal parts would be inadequate.

ts sells for about 80-90 roro the last time i checked (way to overpriced IMO) the normal STi sells anywhere from 190- 250grand, depending on the year, mileage and what not. u can get the STi spec-c for about 160, no ac, no power mirrors, no power windows, no radio, lighter body, more tuned/powerful engine, different gearbox i think. some do not have the brembo's.
i'll take the spec-c anyday, AC is nothing  but i want the brembo's

Only the early Spec C's had no brembos, and those didn't even come with the Gold STi rims, or a wing for that matter.

Ahh, Spec C's do cost more. But some folks hae "put -together" Spec C's available, maybe that's why they sell for a cheap price.

As for the PCA SPec C you saw jasonsjoh16, it's possible that the prev. Japanese/Singaporean owner may have installed an A/C unit, along with Power windows, after purchasing the car. CacasplatThe Spec C is very fast, very lightweight but the Spec C is a also a very tough car to drive daily though, IMO, because of the Type RA "dogbox" gearbox.

The Type RA gearbox is a non-synchromesh gearbox, which is very hard wearing, but a pain to drive slow. It's also very noisy, whines alot, and gives a ton of vibration. With a "dogbox" (as it's affectionately called), the faster you shift, the smoother the shift is. In fact, the best way to shift with these gearboxes, is if you keep your foot partially on the accerlerator between shifts (unlike a conventional box). If you don't do that, you can risk grinding your gears.

If you want more power, you can look at aftermarketr Stage 1 or stage 2 cams, also with an intake system, and a Catback Exhaust (not just a cheap-o barrel).

Cobb tuning sells the cams and the intakes, and I have a catback available for the TS - http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/vie ... highlight=

You can swap to a EJ20T if you wnat, but that would involve you also changing your dirvetrain, rear axle, gerbox, suspension, brakes....... you get the idea....

Yeah it will drop in, but dropping in an STi engine in a TS does not automatically make it an STi. There's lots more to it than that....how about suspension for instance? Drive axles? Brakes? If you convert everything to STi spec, well then....yeah, you've got yourself an STi-TS hybrid!!!

To continue that point, there have been some successful conversions from TS to STI. In fact one of the members on scoobytnt.com did it. His conversion included the spec C engine as well. You still have so wiring issues as the TS is missing a lot of stuff on the fuel side of things. Other than that you good to go. The conversion kit with gearbox, engine and suspension could run you into 50k. The car would cost about 80k. Add in the seats, dash, door panels, bonnet (the little things) another 15k. You still come out better with a full STi.

Oh and doe forget to ROM tune.

^^If you were to buy a TS, and try to bring it up to STi spec, it would end up costing you about the same price as an STI...all total.

You'd need:

STi Engine
Dash/Harness
Transmission and Rear diff
Brembo Brakes and Axles
STi suspension
STi Exhaust
STi Bonnet
STi Chassis bracing (like the brace under the rear seat, for starters).
STi Sway Bars and End links....

Add in the seats, dash, door panels, bonnet (the little things) another 15k.

I think that comes up to more than 15K, Riderz

The list goes on and on.....

That is not correct. Check gobin is interior setup was 4k. The instrument panel (not the entire dash) is about 2.5k. Door panels another 2k. So I over esteimated. All the other stuff you mentioned before I priced for 50k. So it works out cheaper.

yea buh gobin bringing it his own stuff...he doh hadda pay nobody so it guh be cheaper for him...but i tink from ah TS to ah STi still u mite bring it up 2 STi buh at de end ah de day uh still drivin ah TS.

.thaz like the CK lancer and the EVO 6 ...ppl will buy the kit and turbo it and all kinda ting..but the body of the car still soft..so maybe thaz the main difference.
