Problems this weekend . . .

CS3 idle hunting between 1400 and 2800 rpm

happening in P and N

it is normal in R, D, Ds, and L

started saturday, just like that

car was working fine all day,

all of a sudden when stopped at a traffic light and put in N, it idled all teh way up to 3000rpm

put in D, it was normal

I reset teh ECU saturday and it worked normal after

but monday it started happening again

on Tuesday it was intermittent

this morning it was started like normal, then it started idling low

what cud this be Question

idle control motor Question

sigh . . . Sad

mine doing the same thing but not so violently,
ranging from 1100-2000

started happening after i carried it to the mech to clean the tb
then he's telling me some of my k&n oil must have gotten sucked in
...when i checked it out the fool put in the filter backwards
so i say maybe/maybe not

i too was wondering about the icm
any ideas?

venum, did your headlight remain the same after u cleaned it with brake fluid?

My neighbor tried it already and said that it only stays clear for like 2 weeks or so.

^^^ THAT IS WHY I USE THE PLASTIC POLISH

to keep from getting back dirty

car not available to scan until next week . . .

the idle problem not happening too regular, so i think it will be safe to use until then

venum....brake fluid man? I don't know if i will risk it on plastic headlights i'm afraid it might eat them up. I tried everything short of sandpaper on the CS3, what eventually worked for me was a hearty rubdown with autosol metal polish, followed by mothers plastic polish. and rub out with some carnauba cleaner wax to protect them. did it on the M3 as well and it worked great.
