Could anyone advise me on a 2004 ES8 Honda Civic ? Milage- 90,000km.
Is the CVT transmission reliable? what sort of life span does it have?
I am looking at purchacing a civic but a bit concern about the CVT transmission.

Cvt dont buy if you planning on not doing the proper maintenance and 90000km that cvt might give trouble anytime Better you buy the es5 model that is 2003 its ah 1.6 vtec and non cvt transmission

NO problem i currently have and es5 doing about 106000 km and no major problems so far just change shocks and normal oil and filter changes Exclamation

I have a NZE corolla local 2004 and is maintained to the max, genuine toyota parts serviced by myself, using full synthetic mobil 1 oil and change at 5000km.

Seriously though, a well maintained/serviced CVT tranny can be quite reliable. We have a Civic,granted it's a 2000 model, but there have been no problems and we've put 80000Km's on it.

DeDragon- Thanks alot. I notice alot of vehicles coming with CVT now, I guess is how you treat and maintain it.

^^ thats true with all cvt except honda cvt.
