When decelerating with a manual car, sometime a "duk duk duk" sound is heard, or if you accelerate aggressively say in 2nd gear and let go of gas it does happen, is that safe?

i'm open to correction,but i believe that's when you're running rich

my car does that all the time and i get flame shooting out the exhaust when i shift during WOT runs

Its a sign of excessive fuel puddling thats why youre getting the backfire. Throttle back on your fuel pressure regulator and monitor it on your wide band
