Has anyone on the forum installed or even seen the shifter-lock (multi-lock) installed on a mazda 6? I've got an appointment to install one on the wifey's 6 but we're concerned about damage to the centre console and how it'll affect the interior "look" The place where I'm doing it says the installation takes longer on the 6 than other cars and that has me a bit worried.
Thoughts or experiences??? |

| avoid it, don't hurt such a sweet ride man. use club lock or crook lock and install a 3-point immobilisation system to the already existing keyless entry/alarm that im sure u have. multi-lock = waste of time but oscar francois does good work. |

^^ its a waste of time until your car gets stolen right? How bout club lock AND the multilock  *makes note to hunt for a club lock*
Oscar Francois really does neat work so you should not be worried.
Visual deterrent is a big plus in my opinion. |

yes but I prefer buying equipment for the car that won't 'damage' anything or to avoid cutting and drilling to accomodate the product. Thats just me plus like positive there are alot of negative reviews about the multilock and have come across some guys who says they can by pass that (not saying the others i mentioned are any different) but a red well kept local mazda 6 that is lady driven does not really fit into the profile of one whom will lose their vehicle easily, most probably its used between home, work, grocery, shopping malls, family etc..plus its a Mazda and a 6 to boot which is not a high theft brand to begin with worse yet for that particular model. So items such as the crook lock for steering wheel and brake pedal, club lock and a 3-point immobilisation system that IMHO is enough to prevent any theif from attempting to steal such a car. They might as well go find a roro one equipped with a silly viper 350 or the standard mazda anti-theft rubbish system and grab it for parts. local vs roro mazda 6 looks almost the same to me. Lastly nothing built by man will last forever and this multi-lock is no different hence how would the shifter console go look when the mlock is uninstalled?  ugly huh?
Doh 4get to keep full comprehensive risks policy so that God forbid if were to get stolen, let the insurance cheque be a downpayment towards the new 6
either way Jack wins.....well in this case de wifey. |

Thanks for the opinions,I admit it will look kinda ugly but it's better to be safe than sorry.I feel a bit more confident now knowing that O.Francois can do a professional install. Fully comprehensive insurance all the way too!  |
