I am looking for some advice on the installation of European type sharkfin or twisty antenna on the roof top of my civic.
Usually these types of antennae are placed to the rear of the roof, just above the rear wind screen.
Presently I have the power antenna, but I am tired of the warping of the aerial rods (due to wind drag resistance, while driving) and the failing of the plastic gears over time. I want something that has no moving parts.
My questions are:
1. Who sells these the twisty or sharkfin attennae?
2. Who does installation?
3. Do you have to drill the roof top for the installation? (I've seen some twisties on the rear windscreen itself)
4. Any comments or advice?
Thanks. |

You will need to drill a hole in the roof of your car to feed the main cable through. You will possibly need to remove the inner roof lining for access (and to stop you drilling a hole in it)
put blue tape (low adhesive) around the hole(s) you drill to prevent your paint from cracking |
