| IT is a Panel Van ....so trunk space is not really a problem..lol....and the amplifier is a powerbass asa 3000.....the amplifier equally matches the RMS on the speakers..... just remember it must be for three subs...(rockford Fsgate P3's).....thanx lot guys your efforts are greatly appreciated.... |

hoss your amp is the powerbass XA3000d, not asa, there is no asa 3000d.
that amps power is 6000watts max, 3000rms @ 1 ohm.
with 3 rf p3's d4 you might not be able to get the full potential out of that amp (3000rms @ 1 ohm).
the best you can do is you can hook up each one series to get 8 ohm & parrallel them to get a final impendance of 2.6 ohms, you should get a little more than 1500rms at that impendance since the amp puts out 1000rms @ 4 ohm & 2000 @ 2 ohm. |

well is better he use 2 of them & done, that 3 sub configuration will result in him ending up with a final impendance below 1 ohm or above 1 ohm (2.66 as I stated just now). there is no way he will be utilizin the full power of that amp.
if he goes below the 1ohm final load he is risking damaging the amp & if he runs at 2.66 he will not be getting no kind of power (3 of those subs require 1500rms & the amp will be putting out more than a proper 500 at that impendance), his best bet is to wire all of them parallel & get a final impendance of 1 ohm with a power requirement of 1000rms (& both me & you know those rf will handle that 1500 rms comfortable) |

So the speakers are D4.
The vehicle is a panel van.
The amp is 1500rms.
Your FIRST problem:
The subs can either be wired to 2.67:
your amp will put a little less than 750rms at 2.67ohms.
or to an ohmage below 1 ohm
(your amp is not stable at that ohmage i.e your SECOND problem)
With Dual 2ohm speakers you can have:
With 3, you get a 1.33 ohm load
With 4 you get a 1 ohm load:
downside, you will need to change you amp to a 2000.1
HOWEVER:
if you run only 2 D4 speakers (of which you have 3) you can get it down to 1 ohm:
keep your same amp, and sell the other speaker to get some cash for deadening.
the speakers will get 750 rms each (if you believe the amp specs - personally i think around 700rms each) the speakers will take it but NEED to be broken in PROPERLY.
For a box for a panel van, i'd say around 2.2 cubic each tuned to 36-37Hz. |
