Hey tuners, I need a little advice and some feedback here.
Now I'm getting a 4G18 GLX for my car. Now can this engine be converted to a manual????? Is it possible???? What alterations would have to be done???? Would I have to change the brain???? Anyone who has done this, please send some feedback please.
Thanks |

a 4g18 can be converted to manual... it uses the same gearbox as the 4g92 sohc just different flywheel (if i'm not mistaken) once doing this conversion you must get the manual brain in order to avoid banging your head against a wall... i was told just last week that towheed's auto in curepe has the gearbox with brain etco u can check therefor the gearbox...
with regards to your 2nd question concerning turbo charging this engine... there are bolt on turbo kits for the 4g18 but the price for them is around 20k-25k...
otherwise you can go with the normal trini way... ghetto boost... buy a turbo, custom make a manifold, have sum mad scientist install it along with all other necessities & dont cross 6psi else your 4g18 will not last long enough to enjoy it
here is a pic of a turbo 4g92 sohc... the turbo kit for this is the same one used for the 4g18
