| my galant had no sensor on the cat.......so I had no trouble/worries gutting it out.......that was a 1.8 gdi, nov '98 model......had no worries wrt performance subsequently...... |

| I would not remove the CAT unless you looking to race or it is forked up. Minimal HP gains. If you doing a IHE, I would think it would be worth it. If it is GDI, I would advise against it, as just about any mod I have seen done to that engine causes problems, from cone filter to exhaust barrel changed, problems with the engine soon after. |

^^what is an IHE?
yes the engine is GDI and i know these engines give problems an ppl shud just stay the hell away from doing mods on it.....is my gf car an she gone by de muffler shop to weld on a tip an de welder man tryin to chain she up to remove the CAT....cuz he tell she de catalyst particles does fly up in de engine an cause problems lol
so i tell her i'll find out for her |

| i think a power seller has extractors (4-2-1) for this model and will accommodate the oxygen sensor...going for 1200 or so....can't recall who...someone from Rio Claro |

This is the type with the butterfly in the exhaust? And no probs? |
