depends, if you need a quote for insurance.
straightener does quote for a percentage of total cost (avg 10%) which will be wavered if he does the repair.

if not through insurance, they normally give you a verbal guesstimate to work with.

The garages i deal with, no. Other garages have operated differently.

charging for a quote?

I mean if you wanna cover the cost of the paper and ink, fine, but 10% of the job?

that is madness.

Laughing tell them.
i doubt i'll be allowed to mention the places. both in south who did that.
time i heard the price of the quote, i knew how much they were charging to do the job, and moved on.

people charge for estimates because most times they don't get the job,the owner collects the money and then go to a cheaper guy and pocket the rest,,,,,,, Idea
