|
|
Hi Guys,
I'm considering purchasing a full coilover set from Miami through ebay. the seller is shipping directly to Trinidad via FedEx. What costs can I expect to pay when landed? i.e. VAT, and any other taxes? Any help from your experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

yes and duty is charged on cost of the item + shipping....
vat is then applied to final cost.
btw which coilover system are you going with? |

GEAR_HEAD, i was either going for GAZ or KSport coilovers if i'm bringing them down. i have a WTB post in the classifieds, so far it looks as though i might go with the TEINS that teknet can bring down.
Ignorant Ignis, thanks, i got a PM stating that they charge on weight? but wouldn't that be included in the freight costs? |

Could be the "packaging" weight they're referring to.
Normally, or at least with some shipping lines, they have a minimum shipping charge for a box of a certain size....x by y inches etc....like an assumed weight.
If the package weighs more, then they charge you accordingly......but if it weighs LESS than the assumed weight (imagine a cereal box packed with plenty foam in a 20x20 inch box), then you STILL pay the minimum weight charge.
Shouldn't matter in your case...chances are the suspension will weigh> minimum packaging shipping weights. Other than that....shipping shouldn't be too bad.
Just multiply the USD cost x 10 to get a feel for what the final cost might be in your hands. |
