Is the car prepped already?
What color do you have in mind?
Is it a flash over?
What materials do you have?

The car is prepped halfway all necessary spots were straighten and sorted out with filler just to remove the original paint from the car.
The color is silver.
No it's a new paint job.
Here are the items i have reducer, base coat stabilizer, clearcoat hardener, high gloss clearcoat, putty, classic plastic auto body filler and two Qt of 18g std silver paint.

Well the main thing is wanna know is if it will be ALOT cheaper to use my material if not i'll go with another color(championship white) and pay the difference. So if anyone knows some honest painters who will not ripped me off please PM me their contact number, because someone actually gave me a quote for $5000.00 labour only and that's madness in my books.

That means there's more work the painter would have to do. Usually a prep is around 700.

I Havent seen you mention anything about it being primed and double primed as well. So thats also aditional money. You also didnt mention if the car is gutted or not, therefore I assume its not, so the painter would have to mask up the car and tape off all the parts. So thats aditional money there as well.

Sometimes painters charge higher according to what kind of paint and clear coat u purchase. Some brands require more work (e.g a cheap clear coat would need more coats for better coverage, or if the car was poorly straightened, the filler may suck down the paint)

So to tell you the truth, $5000 is a very realistic price. I personally would've charged a $3000.

PConfused - All my information is based on the fact that I associate myself painters and a paintshop.

it all depends on the painter, each has their own price

most times pal, some paints need non staining filler,a special primer for the paint, surface preparation is the key, a man quoting cheap may be a bad move, also ask around about the guy who is giving the quote if he does a good job, some times you may not see what the painter is seeing Idea

well for basic paints (without the use of paintpots and thing) it does be $3000 and repairs after that will be your extra ......so if you jes want someone to throw on paint it will cost that but most of the times good painters like to do the prep work themselves so tey will guarantee their work!!
