Agreed. but if someone wants it badly enough, they'll do what it takes to fix it...

^ ^ ^ But how many people actually spend MORE money to fix a bad repair on a "new" buy?
9 times out of 10 they just get rid of the headache by selling the car to somebody else.

Look at all the classified ads... IMHO many Evos and other hi-performance cars turn up
for sale MORE THAN ONCE over a VERY short time because they all have "issues."
If they were really reliable & repaired properly they wouldn't be re-sold so often.

^ ^ ^ That would be nice... Laughing ... but IMPOSSIBLE! My name is not Louis Hamilton...
and if he can make mistakes... who iz poor me! I didn't buy an E6 to drive like "Granny"
so its going to happen sooner or later. This is just a "heads up."

When it happens to a "collector car," know what to ask for when you go for repairs...
... and then PAY YOUR MONEY! Most people try to "chinks" on the cost... that's normal...
But then they wonder why their "baby" NEVER handles, stop or runs like before.
Then they want to sell it... and "stick" somebody else with the headache.

How much does the insurance company say the car is worth? That may give an indication of how bad the car was damaged.

^^ I had a talk with a certified straightener .. and he told me that pulling the car back to the original datum points will be at a level of 95 - 98 % ACCURATE . It wouldnt go back to manufacture specs .. its like thin foil if you crumple it and then try to smoothen it again, it will not look like the sheet before you crumpled it. That 2% is the diffrence between your tire touching the wheel well when you turn right... or your bonnet not poping up when you pull the leaver or the alignment keep going out

BTW certified by who??? Do you know which foreign Trade School he attended?
Please don't tell me John D.... or San Fernando Tech.

It wouldnt go back to manufacture specs... So is your expert saying that it's impossible to repair most
chassis damage back to OEM specifications? This is done every day in foreign bodyshops.

If that's what he means, then I disagree. The only things that should prevent "OEM standard"
repairs are final cost... lack of replacement panels... lack of correct equipment... or lack of skill.
IMHO find a better trained straightener with modern equipment.
