| This car was involved in an accident in Iere Village, Princess Town some time last year. Car was curved around a light pole. Impact was so bad that one of the rotors was shattered. |

That may be true, but if the person was dilligent about their car and repairing it and was honest about it ( he did post that it had an accident) Someone may buy it and fine tne the little imperfections that come after having a crash...
He may not get what he asked or, but someone interested would. |

| if chassis isn't compromised and a car was in an accident and it was just a matter of unbolting damaged and bolting good parts, absolutly nothing is wrong with the car/price |

Unfortunately 95% of the time; those "little imperfections" usually mean a badly pulled chassis and bad suspension alignment forever after. Most people get fooled by a pretty paint job and don't get an alignment check BEFORE buying a used car.

Dave I'm not an expert by any means... but I have spent quite a few years (over 20) learning a little about chassis alignment and body repairs.
| Sanctifier wrote: | Modern cars with VERY thin, high-strength steel chassis components are ALMOST ALWAYS "compromised" to use your term. The energy transferred by even minor impacts USUALLY causes chassis deformation somewhere else. That's what they're designed to do.
Now add the Trini "rip-off" factor... So what SEEMS to be a minor accident usually causes a HUGE repair estimate.
VERY FEW body-shops (if any) will ever take the time to pull a chassis 100% back to the original datum points. MOST don't even have the equipment to do so properly.
The key is a VERY accurate Measuring System (usually Lazer, or at least something almost as accurate)... a good chassis jig... with trained staff... AND TIME to use it properly.
Body shops are ALWAYS too busy. TIME... and a shortage of TRAINED staff are their biggest enemies... Most staff are contract workers and GET PAID BY THE JOB! So NINE TIMES OUT OF TEN, your chassis gets pulled REASONABLY STRAIGHT... BUT ALMOST NEVER 100% back to OEM datum points. That would take TOO MUCH TIME to do and COST too much.
BTW that's "REASONABLE limits" for unregulated, untrained (don't give a sh!t) T&T standards, eh! Not to MUCH higher foreign standards, with recourse to a quick legal system. |

Yup I know but you'll be surprised how the force from even minor impacts can distort a chassis and change the gap between external panels like fenders, bonnet, doors etc.
Even what seems to be minor impacts can have a negative effect on suspension alignment.
