Hi All:

We r in the process of designing and bringing to the market a smart boost gauge. Please comment and suggest a reasonable retail price for this digital device. There will be a 3ne2nr discount. This gauge simulates an analog display and does not tell u a number, kinda hard to read a number that's changing fast, easier to see a gauge rise and fall.

So far these are the capabilities:

1) a) 0- 20Psi or b) 5psi Vac to 15 Psi boost ,or (c) 0-20 psi, and Full vac to 5 psi boost switchable , pls choose a,b,or c, as your vote will help decide the build. (c) will cost a bit more.

2) NB lean/rich o2 display - helps with tuning.

3) Lean boost alarm - saves ur engine.

4) 12 V trigger output when (3) occurs to drive a relay or some other device. - can trigger extra injector or do emergency fuel cut.

5) Smart turbo timer that starts timing WHEN boost last dropped to zero. So no need to idle if ur turbo is already cooled.
Pls suggest a timer duration ...2 ,3 or 4 mins? Or have an adjustable unit?

6) LED display colours, external Colour and finish?

7) Bar style rectangle or standard round shape 3.25" dia?

Thanks for any comments guys....once the votes r in I will respond with the final feature set and estimated street price and the trinituner direct price. BTW pm me if u want any specialty ecu interceptors or displays designed.

I think it should be available for under $1k TTD. And we will look at adding the aux. boost trippoint for water injection or Injector control in addition to the lean/boost alarm point.

What do u think?

Sounds good.
Concerns based on your point #'s:

1. Lots of men running over 20PSI tho, you may want to include up to 30PSI

5. i like the idea of an adjustable timer vs fixed point

6. LED Colours - anything that does not look to ricey
External appearance - Black is the most neutral colour that can go with any car interior. GLoss or flat black.

7. Round always has my vote.

Sounds really nice, hope is not any cheap chinese electronics. Quality matters.

I am sure ppl out there pushin more than 20psi boost....but.....if u are u prob running engine management h'ware & s'ware logging and don't need an independent smartboost gauge.

This system is targeted at those streetables who cannot afford a full ems etc.

The thinking is that a 20psi intelligent multipurpose gauge at a reasonable cost between the basic mech/elec gauge and fancy networkable over-the-top - money-not- a-problem -gauges would be a decent target market.

The target price point is below $1k TTD with full warranties and local support.

So the basic mech gauge is around $400 TTD ...boost ONLY.
Then comes the fancier, prettier digital version with peak hold etc ....$600+ or so.
Then our SMARTBOOST with Boost gauge, O2 rich/lean, Turbo timer, AND programmable boost aux trip and Lean/Boost aux trip with jumbo , can't-be-ignored Lean/Boost alarm light. For 3 complete Devices in one. - $900+ TTD
Then comes the networkable Intelligent Gauges with programmable trip points and optional command data log units for complete gauge integration : We looking at $1800 TTD +

Anyone care to comment on the suitability of the product to the market segment?
Would YOU buy a SMARTBOOST with that feature set and price point if u were not going with a full EMS/network gauge system.

Initial Market research indicates a dual duty 20psi switchable to 30psi Gauge is the best value for the customer. So the gauge will grow with the customer who upgrades the boost.....as is inevitable.
Very Happy

We will offer gauges backlit with dimmable green, red or blue glows and be offering a beta test to qualifying trini tuners.

Our test will proceed as follows:

Testers who provide adequate (e-mail) feedback and constructive comments and qualify as gold testers get to KEEP the gauge for FREE and receive the option for a distributorship with consignment stocking. The available number of gold testers will be limited.

Further, we would offer a $500 TTD Shocked prize to anyone who suggests a name that we select for the gauge. At the moment we have several options as follows: SMARTBOOST , iBOOST, FlexBOOST , TurboTRIP, & iGAUGE.
Be Creative. Wink

Naturally we're not testin' vacuum alone so you must have a turbo ride. Anyone who is interested in becoming a Beta tester can PM or reply, pls describe your ride and approximate regular drive route.

thank you.
