got a question about cai, i hav a cai but it isnt for my car so i hav some fabricating to do, now the thing is i wanna get some more aluminum pipe and make it a bit longer than the cai for my car, it would end up right behind the grill, so air from out side would flow directly into it.

the thing is all i am doing to this car is cai and headers so i would be able to make the cai as long as possible, so i want to kno if there would be any draw backs with doing it longer than the K&N cold air intake for my car.

and also if u guy recommend me to buy the extra pipes and weld it together in the shape i want or to buy the silicone rubber and clamp it where the bends connect.

i would be grateful for any serious feedback

I think they chain dill the wheel well, make a hole and let filter reside between the inner part of the fender and the plastic wheel well guard for optimum performance. I think you would want some flexibility so I would suggest silicone joinins.

had a CAI in an almera with the filter where the fog light supposed to be (dont have fogs so the bumper had a hole) i drove throught heavy rains fairly fast and nothing happened.

i think you should worry if the filter is entirely submerged in water. but the bypass valve was created for this purpose.
