ok what do you all want to know?

as for shakers question, im suppsoing the charging he is speaking off is that what will be needed after you crack a tune for like a minute. Any alternator can re-charge those batteries its just the rate that it will charge those batteries at. The 140 amp will do it. A 200 amp will do it faster. A 300 amp will do it like lightning.

wrong, the charge time will be identical...

the 140A alternator has more than enough capacity to charge all those batteries with ease.. adding a bigger alternator will only increase the amount of reserve power in your system..

i disagree because my 110 alternator i had before would take 2 minutes at 2000 rpm to do a recharge to 13.8 after a 1 minute crank. My 300 amp will do it in 8 seconds now at 2000rpm.

It depends on the size of a battery bank as well. What if you took a battery bank comprising 20 kinetik 2400s and pulled 15000rms for 1 minute from it, the 140 amp will charge it back up the same rate as a 300 amp?

more like apples to pumpkin lol

what i saying is the 200 or 300 amp alternator will still charge back the small battery bank faster than the 140.

this calls for an experiment?

that's your error there.. to determine if your battery is charged, you have to monitor the current draw of the battery! a fully charged battery will usually draw around 2 - 3A of current while a discharged battery can draw over 10A at times..

your 110A alt just takes longer to build its voltage to 13.8V.. that's all.. but if you compare a 140A alt to a 200A alt from the same brand, they should build their voltages at a similar rate.. due to having similar regulators..

my 140A alt will reach 14.3V within seconds after starting the engine.. and that's with 2 powermaster batteries on it.. even at 14.3V, it will still take a while for the batteries to absorb enough charge to reach full capacity..

the only true way to know when they are fully charged is to use an ammeter in series with the battery..

i was just at a padnas house playing around 6500 rms of 4 hc2000 kinetik and a 200 amp alternator.

From observing how his alternator was charging back those batts, i must say my alternator is on a different league altogether with its external regulator. I can recharge to my set voltage in less than 10 seconds, we were waiting over a minute for him.

at the higher voltage, it means that your batteries will start to absorb charge alot quicker! your alt wukkin...

so i have a question, just because my voltage comes back up soon after cranking to where it was before crank, does that means that all the charge taken from my batteries have been replaced, or my alternator is double wukking in that it is giving enough current to charge the batteries back as well as maintain its set voltage?

assuming your batteries resting voltage is 12.8V.. if while playing you voltage falls below this level, current will be draw from the batteries.. once it remains above 12.8V, your alt will be doing all the work..

also, a battery will discharge alot quicker than recharge.. so if you run them all the way down, they will take a long while to charge back..

it is ideal when your system voltage never fall below the resting voltage of your batteries!

with your vehicle on, your alternator is supposed to provide for all the electrical requirements of your vehicle..
