asking for a fren

fellas he have a 2zz auto, but the valve body is going, and finding a 2zz 6wd gear box and converstion is seeming to be alot right now...... i read on other fourms that the 4age tranny is the same only different is the bell housing..... is this ture and would he be able to use a 4age tranny until he have the cash to get a good working 6wd box and can afford the swap

also the 7th gen celica (gts 2000+ model) are the shocks the same as the corollas ?)

thanks for any helpful information................... any negative comments would jus show how much of an ass some of u are

if the valve body is going has he considered a rebuild? He could check places like Chaguanas Auto Supplies or Jenton

The rebuild at a proper tranny shop would imo be the better option. Chaguanas Suto Supplies is an authorized distributor for toyota parts.

full swap as in shifters cables, shifter, pedals, fluid reservoir, lines, mounts, pressure plate, flywheel, clutch, fabrication, installation fees and the price of gearbox will cost over 10k........now daz in an ideal situation.....now the pressure is to find the box as well as the other parts to go with it!! just pay the popo a lil thing and go see what u could salvage from the import lot from the gts up in town that covered in moss!!

The 4age box is not the same. and no the celica shocks or springs will not work on the rolla. the 20v box has different ratios and different internals and i doubt the bell housing will be interchangeable. The 5 speed for the 1zz will work, so you can try find that.

tte ive been talking to a few guys on newcelica.org, they said that the 5fwd from the 1zz works like sheit when on the 2zz engine, and currently one of them put in the 20v 6wd and from wat he said the 20v box is working way better than the 1zz

the shocks will not work by itself, the gts came with super strut suspension II how different its from the sss I dont know, but right now on my ae111 trueno i am using the sss from the st205 celica and its bolt on no problems, the only problem would be if i were using the celica hub where the abs housing is smaller! i dont know if the sss II however will be able to work on the ae chasis but if u gona try u will have to get the whole suspension, all the linkage because the shock is designed in a way where everything is mounted together!!

this forum has great pics of the setup check it out

I suggest you change the fluid first and see. For that matter maybe you should change all the fluids.

tte, same advice I gave him, change all fluids, as the new owner he should start his own maintainence schedule, and considering the RPMs he wants to do coupled with solodexing an external tranny cooler couldn't hurt

the gears were going in hard and b4 3rd goes it takes a while, bounce on the rev limiter about 3-6 times....also it barly builds rpm in 3rd and doesnt seem to go in lift...............the guys at TTTL said it cld be the valve body

but would change all the fluids and service the engine and give an update
