yur lucky them fins didnt end up in the engine,mind did and zd30 engine not cheap

needed to get a new turbocharger, head, valves etc.

Just wanted to know "pothole", when your turbo went tru. did your engine sieze up
or did it continued to run but with a very low power. and how did you know the fins
went in your engine. By the way how much for the ZD 30 engine. Thinking bout
putting in a QD 32.

when the fins shatter and go into the engine, it ends up inside the head and causes the engine to shut down... reason being the head is damaged. when it happened to me i heard a loud grating sound, but i didn't know it was the fins that shattered.

a head is $11500,
a turbo is $11500,
the valves are like $400 each... you need 4 intake and 4 exhaust valves.
then you need a new timing belt, the belt guide, cylinder head gasket...
expect to spend around $4000 for labour.

thankfully, i didn't damage my block and pistons...

best bet is to put in a QD32 and sell the van... count yuh losses one time.

expect to spend around $35000 for everything - parts, labour and minor stuff like oil and filters etc.

Well luckily i think all that didn't happen to me. All i heard was a loud noise and the
van just lost power. Presently it could still drive but with very low power. most i getting out of it like this is bout 100 km/hr. smoking alot though. Thanks for the info.

mad, get a diagnostic check done.

it could be the injectors and/or fuel pump... i had to change those as well.

i got a zd30 out of a nissan elgrand for 24000

buy the thing new and done...

check sookhai's for the turbo if you don't want to pay the $12K from massy.

don't want to buy a used turbo and run it on a new head and next thing same sh!t happen again.

or better yet, get a contact for NECK in moruga and see if they have any. heard they had a frontier engine and box on the ground for like $25K or 30K, not sure if it was the YD25 or the ZD30... but still check it. i knew they had it earlier this year (well so someone told me).

or if all else fails, buy a QD32 in the bamboo for around $10-15K and wukkk that... just that the value of the van would depreciate.
