Engine is the familiar Lotus-developed Ecotec 2.2-litre 16-valve four-cylinder, with twin-balancer shafts to ensure smooth and linear power delivery. This is a world class engine, and probably the only item better than its competitors. 140 horsepower and 145 lbft of torque is class-leading too, although it also drink more fuel than its 1.8 or 2.0-litre counterparts.

Ecotec used in Vaxhall/Opel/Holden Astra,Vectra and Omega. Replaced 2.0 X20XE. Not a Ford engine.

Research the Meguiar's Ford Focus. It uses an engine i swear is ah cortina 2000 SOHC or a pinto. apparently a special version of the cortina engine is still available from ford stricltly for racing purposes. The Ford mustang (1980's) 4cyl turbo is also a dread turbo-charged, EFI 2.2/2.3 PINTO engine. Do some research fellas. #alien
