Madchanic.... this is a red tape / politics issue.

Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong... but...

Although we have clubs/orgs that represent every other motorsport discipline (rally, solodex/autocross, karting, drift, circuit) ....we have NO official Drag Racing organisation in Trinidad. There are a couple promotional companies that pull off drag events, but for some reason, there is not an official drag organisation.

The group called TTASA represents motorsports in Trinidad on the whole, and recently has been putting on drag events (badly)... but they are not the actual reps for drag racing itself.

'Autosport' on this forum IMO is the best man to talk to about arranging an event as he has the most experience putting a successful event together. But ultimately you will need TTASA approval.

actualy he wont need ttasa's approval as the event is foreign

best contact would probably be autosport as they have the experience with holding drag events in grenada etc and shipping costs etc

If he needs some form of authorization then he will need to seek out TTASA, but if all he needs is info on who to invite he can ask any ole JOE even autosport will know that stuff......LOL

BUT a good point was made here.......how come none of you mouthy people never form a organization and formalize your drag racing group? it would hellp unify drag racing in T&T..or didnt you ever think of that? Or is it that your always too busy arrguing over small things like who should be in charge to ever really get a proper committe set up?

..................................................
now Madchnic..

1/ The Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) is the governing body for all motor sports here & is T&T's National Sporting Organisation as recognised by this country's Government.
2/ TTASA is also the F.I.A. ASN (National Sporting Authority) for T&T.
....
last I heard (up to saturday last, at least), Jamaica was still an F.I.A. affiliated country with a functioning ASN.
..
Please observe proper protocol & contact your countryman -Larry Henriques- who will guide you on how to properly go about issuing an invitation from one FIA ASN to another (via your home-country's ASN) to attend a sanctioned event.
...
FYI...Mr. Jameer Ali ( JAMEERALI@HOTMAIL.COM ) is the current TTASA President and Mr. Nizam Mohammed ( NMOHAMMED@NMMOTORS.COM ) is the Competitions Chairman.
...
Yours in motor sport
