|
|
Bought a full suspension kit from GT Racing a couple weeks ago and I didnt get a chance to install them.
For the ppl who got suspension kits on their car, who did the work? Can someone recommend an GOOD installer hopefully in central?
Thanks |

You could probably try Tone Automotive Limited on Union Road in Marabella.
I know they sell and install those polyurethane bushings (at least when last I was there).
I haven't had any complaints about the suspension work that they have done for me (although it wasn't bushing related work). |

Got mine done at Tone recently. He charges $40 a bushing, and had experience in other cars. Not all machine shops are capable. Had one in central waste my time by telling me it was the wrong kit because they couldn't get the bushings to work.
Check Tone's...tell them the chick with the blue silvia sent you |

Anil doesn't have a press, else I would have left the arms for him to install the bushings one time when he took them out.
Check Tone's. |

depending on how much grease u got wit the kit, you should get a bottle of belray waterproof grease and reallyyyyyyyyyy grease those bushings when puttin them on.
grease the shafts that they would be mounting to also. when they dry out the amt of noise u get u'll go mad. Especially the big bushings in the control arm. (depending on wha car u drive, if it has that) |

There are many good mechanics who don't have a press because usually there's a machine shop nearby that does it for them at a better price than if you went with your cradles, so don't let that deter you.
Check Laro in Freeport.....he's usually by appointment though as he's always busy. |

Sorry to say, but if I'm to judge by the way that shop machines brake rotors (sloppy job)....then I'd be hard pressed to let them touch my car.
AS most have said in this thread, any self respecting mechanic can do this for you. My mech did my Energy suspension bushing swap on the WRX with no probs....the only thing I had to do was get the old bushings pressed out at a machine shop, and that was about the hardest thing to do. |

Well don't over-grease it, obviously.
But the grease supplied with the kits should often be enough. Depending on who you bought the kit from, they should prob. have a few extra tubes of it lying around. |

| i using the cradle set up and just used the 2 tubes you get with them and after about 3mths they started making noise.(big bushings) so thats why i said get extra grease and do it properly. grease the bushings and shaft properly. the poly bushings stand up against almost anything, so i doubt using extra grease would do any harm |
