Spike, you would most likey be in HS
your car is heavy and that cortina engine is rubbish........the 82hp is at the flywheel, NOT at the wheels, which is where CARS check it..........so more like 60whp and 2k lbs |

What is this? Mr. Britainnia-rules-the-waves decrying a veddy british engine?? Hand me down my broadsword!!!
I agree with the power loss figure, but quoting bhp states a definite ceiling, which is easily verifiable (avoiding "those pinto's can give you great numbers"!)
As for the rubbish remark.... How much hp you think I could wring from a Pinto with DIY mods? Compare the low cost of that and the cost of a japanee engine with a similar output... check the weight too... and how long the engine lasts as well...
I could go on and on... makes more sense to just build it n bring it n slap you with it
