It's seems the developers want to main stream this car and try to influence the female market , i'm not sexist but the car looks like a march or some piece of scrap metal, No one will fear a subaru if they continue to take away it aggressive looks , the new 08 impreza ,wrx and sti is terrible if you think of buying something new go legacy because it the shape and essence was not touched. i hope 2009 they re-invent the inpreza into something remarkable |

The new impreza looks good.
It has lost some of the "aggressive" edginess of the older cars.....but then....that's been happening with alot of the newer cars these days (Evo X v.s. Evo IX? etc).
At least the new TS isn't as badly off as the older one in the hp range (95 hp v.s. 106 hp). |

Yep...it's more than just peak power too.
If I can remember what I saw in the brochure (I just skimmed thru it quickly at the firm), I think it has AVCS now. So the new car gives a better power response throughout the rpm range, as opposed to the old EJ16 powered TS. |

the foreign auto press still rates the likes of the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Lancer and Mazda 3 to be better cars overall......they generally say the design sets a new benchmark in the yawn factor. However, its a solid car with good traction (duh) but the dash besides the exterior looks was rated subpar and despite an "improved" suspension, the Mazda 3 still posts better lateral g's in grip.
Local hatchbacks are heavier than the 1.6TS sedan of yore and despite a slightly more powerful engine (marginal), the weight increase ofsets such hence.....$179k for a 1.5L engine is reduced to it being a highly ridiculous price.
Lastly crash safety seems overall good but I expected much better results since this is a 2008 fresh launch and fuel economy is unimpressive for a compact as well as interior room. |

True....but then again look at the prices corollas are going for. The basic model for what....140k.....doesn't even carry ABS, or a tach A "loaded" ( ) Corolla with those "features" ( ) costs circa 160K. |

The 2008 Impreza is a two thumbs up for me, my friend bought a '08 Impreza last week. Sooo cool one thing I like about the Impreza is that
"The enthusiast-grade WRX sheds 50 pounds but boasts bolder bodywork, more useable muscle-still 224 T-charged horses but with broader power/torque bands-big Legacy-level brakes, and a full sport suspension. Details on the upcoming STI remain murky, but expect super-aggressive style."
