| Throw some of your girlfriend's nail polish remover into your gas tank and come back and report your results. |

| not plenty jus in like small amounts....like 3 oz. per 10 gallons...apparently that will be enough to vaporize the fuel better so u get better combustion and less wasted gas therefore increase economy |

well this might be possible cause some of the new v8 engines switch off 4 cylinders when they crusing so when power is needed run all 8 wan the rest of the time use just 4 big fuel tip
next big thing is for diesel vehicle running it on vegatable oil or used vegatable oil and the amount of chinese fast food places we have we will have an unlimited supply |

i think that the acetone is a little too strong to use in great quantities
my experience is with adding methanol,, pure methanol
those guys say they use it to clean their injectors
i used a chubby bottle in a $100 premium and did not notice any thing
i used two to a $100 and same thing
i kinna crazy so then i use a liter and feel something,,, and then gone on the cross
i do that again and went on the cross again was definitely an improvement
i then used nearly a two liter,,, the engine sounded very rough, not good like something wrong and it did not run too well either,,,,
it may have needed retuning for that mixture but did not feel that way to me , and i doh have money to buy a next rb25,, so i thin it down
what i'm saying is that you'll have to find the right mixture,,, and with acetone you'ld have to use very small quantities like in the ounces,,, and leave room to thin down if necessary |

^^^ isn't there a thread here on improving octane with home-made mixtures of toluene, methanol and whatnot? methinx it had recommended mixing ratios as well
either way, to some extent using nigher octane fuel MAY help fuel economy, but that depends heavily on the engine and tuning
let's say u have a high compression pocket-rocket and your timing is all advanced and whatnot...on pump gas it's likely to ping...so the knock sensor picks up the pinging and the ecu backs off the timing and richens the mixture to save your powerplant from pre-detonation
in a case like this, using a higher octane mix means your anti-knock circuitry doesn't come into play so u actually feel an increase in power (cuz ECU isn't pulling timing) and you get slightly better economy (cuz ECU isn't dumping fuel)
other than that, it doesn't help in a stock econo-box engine...just keep it well-tuned, properly maintaned and drive economically |
