Interesting very interesting thread... I have serious concerns about wear...but from looking at it you really need to know how and when to apply power, so the car moves and not drifts on the track.

I guess time will tell if I join the party.

ok, my car is mos def the oldest car to compete at dex.....it has seen four full seasons, and at least two events a year outside that...........never changed a single suspension bush or anything else as a result of dex......just wear on tyres
Even my steering rack, which is not assisted has shown no signs of wear
Whatever stress or loading on a car during dex is experienced for just a few seconds.....not nearly enough to do any damage
If your car already has issues, dex may show them up........if you have a bad CV joint or worn bushes, they may be more noticeable after dex, but competing cannot be blamed for that.........

another point for nOObs; if after dex you find your car vibrating, it is not the suspension.....you probably flat-spotted your tyre...........and don't count on the alignment place to pick up on that

Zilch on increased or unusual mechanical wear that I know of. I suspect the daily drive to work does a hell of a lot more damage. And as the organic matter becomes more in tune with the inorganic stuff, less wear on the tyres and better times too. Go figure.

^^agreed.....my daily drive results in alot more wear and tear on my car so i highly doubt that dex does anything other than show up the issues....

Hmmmm.... besides destroyin 4 good tyres on my first attemp at dex...........(i blame the 2 minutes of adrenaline 4 dis)

i damaged two mounts (due to ignorance and improper shifting techniques)

axles (not dex but playin the a$$ with the after dex activities)

never damaged a bushin yet

neither any of my steering components

i aslo managed to damage a set of wagner disc pads by over heating dem and they fractured

so really ur biggest setback @ dex is ur tyres
providing ur car has no unresloved issues

and my milage is over 100K
