Hello ppl. I'm presently contemplating upgrading from my Almera to a VW Passat/Jetta. Honestly I'm just looking for a basic model (used manual) around 1800cc TDI; I'm not looking to "bling" but I'm just looking for a high quality vehicle. My major concern is maintenance. How expensive is it to maintain these vehicles? What about repairs?

I know these cars are excellent but I'm simply looking for some advice. Thank you in advance.

You should link up with an experienced vw mechanic before you make your purchase. Dont ever carry your vw to a normal general mechanic. these cars are very reliable and strong and safe. but there are lots of issues that a 'general practitioner' wont know about and can even cause more harm to your car. Parts is also not an issue. I myself will be importing and stocking jetta parts straight from germany soon.
Parts are also available from the company, a few outside aftermarket suppliers and from miami.

PM me if you need some vw mechanics contact information, or anything else.
Good luck. a jetta/passat is a really nice car.

buying a vw is a great idea

buying a vw roro is not, especially if its a diesel

its true dat the manuel diesel jetta broke some kinda record bout lowest gas mileage, but its advisable to purchase a vw local

heard next year dat tdi jetta will be available at BA

so my advice, buy the 1.4tsi doin 39mpg or wait till tdi is available

pm me if u're lookin 4 a local 2nd hand or mechanic
