krack korn, If the correct wire is now cut and you put the SLD, then you will get you speed, but the spedo will still read max 180kmh although you are going faster.

^yes if the wire he has cut is indeed the output to the speedo

he can possibly use the blue wire to send to the speedo and get the correct speed displayed

^^correct, krack korn it doesnt have wire in that location at least i didnt recall seeing one there and the vehicle isnt here for me to check, the diagram i used was one from a safc neo (the same diagram used to hook up the neo in the car which is functioning perfectly) for the gta (M6-a) an then compared it to a diagram for the apexi RSM and thats the wire they have as the speed signal wire to intercept in the same diagram (M6-a)

the switches were aligned correctly and the speedo doesnt work unless we join back the wire, the owner rechecked the power wires an the input and output wires on the sld and they are hooked up correctly....i have a feeling that hks is faulty Sad

mitsu4life, the HKS is not faulty , if you cut the speed wire and the spedo stop working, then that is the speed out signal.
Get some one with a scan tool and look for speed signal in live data ,if you see the speed working after you cut the wire then the ECU have another wire.

Hello I'm from the UK and own a 7 GTA, I joined your forum to hopefully help someone out, and post this message. Over the last few weeks I have been putting together a Pinout for the GTA. It is still 'work in progress', and the picture in this thread will be updated automatically, as it is just a link to my master copy. Keep an eye on the date below the pinout diagram

I also have to inform you there is no speed sensor on the GTA ECU or gearbox, well, not in the same sense as the manual; the GTA calculates its speed by using the gearbox output (and/or input) shaft speeds. This is then outputted from a pin on the ECU to the Speedo.

The older INVECS gearbox as used in the Galant/VR4 had 5 plugs on the gearbox, one was a speed sensor. The Evo NEVER had this gearbox, and as such only has 4 plugs to the gearbox (see other diagram)

Please inform me directly of any omissions or errors to the Pinout.

Also, the GTA ECU and wiring loom is nothing like any of the manual cars.
The ECU is 4 plug, 3 rows of pins, the ROM is 515k not 256k. Infact it is more like a hybrid between the 8 and 9 ECU.

Thanks. Very Happy
