Anyone want to have a try at a course?

my suggestion is rerun the one from dex 4. (yeah i real like that course, it meets my needs.) ppl already familiar with it. minor change to the finish though (was a lil too close to pit). and myself and others can attempt to systematically improve in certain areas of it.

x2

That course was sweet!!!

ok so what about we forget everybody's current numbers and start with number 1 using Devi's idea of the white board. First come gets number 1, and down the line, which will be written on the side of the car. We can use the timing system as Karl suggested without entering numbers, just to give a time, which can then be given to whoever is writing it down on the white board for everyone to see.

What u think?

howe evr the course is laid out keep in mind the finish box needs to the choosen so as not to allow any flying finishes for a bycc so assist in protecing the sensors

i for one will finish hard and i guarantee if the dex 4 course is reused i will fly in hard tto the box and possible slide to the left

i like the idea of a whiteboard and displaying the times

put the start box as close as possible to the control tent
so control can see who is driving and eliminate the need for a start marshal to relay info back to the control tent

the driver normally has to adjust to the course, not the other way around.

the location of the control tent, is limited by the length of the cable to the sensors. may not have enough length to the finish.

the numbering system sounding good actually. i doubt persons would forget what number is assigned to them that day.

what size white board we using?
i feel quicksilver, razkal, and cbh each need their own, for the amt of runs they hoping to do. #laughpoke Laughing

how about have the timming system record your fastest run only ...cause no one needs to know all there times ... they only want to know if they did better than there last.

i would like to re use the course from dex 4 also

Why aren't all bycc's using the carting course (as closely as possible) ? It is there already, very little setup required, and it gives a constant for measuring progress over time. This is what a training event should be about.

Also, many a track day event away DOES NOT ALLOW timing equipment, but people come away with times. Before there were computers there were things called stop watches used to record official times. The "get a buddy to time you" idea is simple and effective. You should also be recording your times in a log from each bycc (if the same course) to measure progress. Also weather condiitons, how drunk you were the night before etc., all in the spirit of learning and improving yourself, if that is still the goal of BYCC's.
