Just wanna get some info from your experiences with different brands of tyres and what was wrong with it

I heard from a tyreman that those cheap chinese brands of tyres are more or less jus as good as the expensive brand names.....the only thing is there weakeness is in the wall of the tyre...das d fault in then...the walls collapse if u allow them to get soft and run them like that......so the solution is just try tuh keep them hard...so that the wall doesnt damage

anyhow I had some Nixen 18's and well the wall would usually blow out i believe on the inside.

you get what you pay for Rolling Eyes

though, do your research and see who manufactures the tire. Usually big name companies (falken, firestone, michellin, etc) they carry various lines of tires under a different name. I dont want to think who does what but google is your friend.

But do note that higher threadwear = harder rubber compound = less traction
vice versa for lower thread wear

question: who is a tyreman?

does he have some sort of credentials making him the tyre expert on all tyres?

answer: no.....he is usually that guy that tries to convince u that his tyres are the best.....in short, the worst ppl u can get advice from is the ppl selling the tyres

i swear by dunlop sp sport maxx.....hits the sweet spot for me, ride, road noise, wet/dry grip, treadwear and price

^ ^ ^ TEN points! IMHO mounting tyres doesn't make him an expert about all brands...only about those that he sells.

this tyre question is one that comes up pretty often of this forum it seems.

different driving habits, type of vehicle, vehicle suspension maintenance, vehicle uses and so on will be various factors determining how your tyres work for you.

then it depends on spending power. you get what you pay for. i like sumitomo, dunlops, sometimes Pirelli and if you choose to afford it, Michelin.

Check here for some good reviews...

actually running some sumitomo htr/h4's and they seem to work pretty well in both wet and dry conditions......for a threadwear of 400 it rides quite soft and isn't very noisy.........kinda was surprised at the price though---$750 for one by moti

Totally false. Tyres have different speed ratings, weight ratings, heat and threadwear ratings and there are a variety of test they must pass to qualify for different categories. They are also built for different purposes such as commercial/heavy loads, drag radials for traction, all season etc. I'm no expert so do some research on that.

My car started to slide on corners unexpectedly recently. I am currently using a brand called Diamond Back also called Triangle. I used to use Toyo Proxies or Michellin Pilot Sport tyres but due to being literally 3 times cheaper I tried the Diamond Back. You get what you pay for.
