Tuscon Overheating

I've recently heard of two complaints regarding overheating of the Tuscon. Both complaints reported a mileage between 70,000k-75,000k. Has any other Tuscon owner faced a similar problem? I'm already in the 72,000K mark but haven't had any such problems.

it happens across the board, not just in Tucsons. depending on the stress the engine's been thru with every km u clock on the odo the radiator will pop a leak eventually. Usually starts off small and gets bigger over time if not noticed your coolant will evaporate completely leading to over-heating. the minute your temp passes the half mark it only takes seconds to reach the top. pull aside one time and switch the vehicle off and pop the hood b4 ur blow the cylinder head gasket and have to deal with oil mixing with remainder coolant etc.

it happened in my elantra @ 65,000kms approx and i changed the top tank for $460. I noticed a small crack and it was bubbling so i took care of it b4 it became a problem. nothing much to worry about since I personally know of a Tucson that is currently doing more than 150,000kms and its more than 3yrs old already and not one problem.

hey pal ever tried seeing if the thermostat is seized?remove it, it may help or change the radiator. Wink

doesn't overheating happen in all vehicles depending on different factors?

yeah, if the radiator is clogged,or the fan is not turning at the correct speed u got to let the car idle then switch it off,if the fan comes on after starting up again quickly, the temp is raising to fast or the fan cut off time is lapsing, or check if the fan belt is streched,also let it idle and look at the fan see if it is working i mean spinning.......... Wink

keep a check on all rad connections and rad coolant levels. over a long period the coolant level can fall. if oil(i doubt) is in the rad your head gasket might be blown but that a huge if.
