Hope no one had to go NnM south today because they were closed for some electrical work.
Does the radio/cd deck start giving trouble? would tht be under warranty?
My cousin was telling me tht his friend was getting problems ever so often with his deck not being able to change stations or have any function and when he switched off vehicle and then turn on it would start working.
I think he has the vehicle abt 7mths now.
I tell him to tell his friend go complain. |

Over a year now, no problem with the head unit. I probably played a CD 2 or 3 times, never loaded more than one disc...but so far its working as it should.
All that should be under the "general warranty" |

Well I have the diesel 4x4 version; in terms of fuel economy I get about 600Km from about $70.00 gas (thats usually about 3/4 tank) consisting of mainly highway runs, a/c on all the time.
The orginal tyres got about 40K from them, they lasted well and still had acceptable life on them, but with the driving I do, I rather safety. The Kumho ride well, not the best for top end speed, but in terms of comfort it works well.
In terms of the 4x4, I have not taken this "off the beaten path", I dont expect much from it as it's not made for that and the tyres I have would not work well on off-road terrain.
Maintenance so far is "ok" , just oil and filters so far as of 50K+.
One thing that surprised me was the engine noise in the cabin (well lack of) for a diesel and the acceleration(I expected it to be dead for a normally aspirated diesel engine).
All in all, it's a great little van,no regrets, if only it had powered seats, climate control and projector lights |

Thanks DW. I'll take all you've said into consideration, cuz if this fuel $$$ becomes an issue for me I'll have to trade to a diesel 4x4 GLS. |

^^
I dont regret the GLS I have, only reason I took that version was the 6 air bags part. The rest of the features did not really matter.
In terms of fuel economy, you might get similar results from a smaller engine (like a 2.5 or less) pick up based vehicle thats non - turbo. You wont get the ride comfort(unless you load the tray) or change the suspension I believe and dont have a "trunk" per say.
The Sportage should give similar results in terms of user experience and MTBF but with the after sales service I hear ppl get, I chose the lesser of the two evils.
Don't get me wrong, the SGV had me in terms of looks, safety etc and that "nice all encompassing warranty" , but it was not diesel, so I had to pull that from my list when shopping. |

I agree. I took the 6 airbag SGV for safety. That's why I'd take the Tucson GLS if I had to switch. The diesel Captiva was my original choice but I need to do some more research on brand stability locally. The Captiva is almost $100k more with the new MVT.
My no like Kia and SS, so the Sportage is out of the question. |

^^ I know what you mean, one really needs to see how stable the company is before investing that amount of funds in a vehicle.
For that 100K more you could have gotten a diesel Sante Fe pre budget, I am afraid to ask what the price is now. |

Is good you didn't take from the bond or wait on the shipment because no telling how long releasing the bond wud take. And also might have to pay extra.
I am in N&M right now |
