Gosh the increase because of the MVT is going to hurt.
As for the south to POS run everyday (and weekends too), I know it well....I am just happy they did not raise the price on diesel..yet |

well spoke to the sales rep and he said that once we are buying one of the vehicles parked at Mid centre mall, we won't have to pay the MVT...that means we may have to take any colour we get, which is fine cause the MVT may work up to an extra $8K-$10K...
DW at least you have diesel...gemini and i wld have to deal with premium price... |

Yeah, I know what you mean. The difference in diesel was a bit, but with the amount of driving I do, it was working out cheaper in the long run to go diesel. |

Hottgirl you have to take gas or you could take diesel?
In my case I had to take gas.
Its averaging to be an extra $40-$50 for each full up.
I just think twice abt driving around to much when not at work or school which are a must. |

well diesel is over the budgeted amount, so we have to take gas....
normally with our B14 we have to fill up every other day, i wonder how often we'd have to fill up with the Tuscon? and i am sure that we'll be driving the B14 when we are not going to work! |

Actually, I had a B14 and when compared to using the Tucson its not much more gas being used. It just cost more to fill up as I guess its a bigger tank.
Not sure if I observed wrong. |

I dont know what the current price was ( pre or post ) budget, but when I got mine in 2007:
4x2 GL diesel - 220K
4x4 GL diesel - 234K
4x4 GLS diesel - 262K
$248K is for what model Sportage, 4x2 / 4x4, lower spec or higher spec ?
hotgirl and or Gem_in_i might have a better idea of current pricing on the diesel Tucson, ppl ???
I heard a rumour that Lifestyle was / is bringing down a diesel variant to the SGV (not the XL7)..any truth to that ? |

I need to pay more attention.
I've started since Tuesday to keep a record of how much I spend on gas. I never did it before so I would have nothing to compare it to.
So in a months time I would see $$$ spent |

Thanks.
The Sportage model is the 4x4. High spec I guess (only)

Lifestyle will be introducing the Chevy Captive 2.0L VCDi LS Turbo Diesel. Don't look for a diesel SGV, none are available for this region, yet. When it is, they would be manual only. |

DW, i don't know the exact prices of the diesel but i know that its higher than what you paid for it in 2007.
with our B14 we'd usually spend $120 every two days and a total of $360/week, which totals to abt $1,400/month.....(yea, we keep records of everything)
Knowing that the Tuscon has a bigger engine, i am guessing that we're gonna be paying a lot more on gas. |

Maybe I used to spend tht amt to.
I usually am more concerned abt recording my kms than $$$ spent on gas. |

I used to spend about $120.00 every two days to fill a galant, between the gas and repair costs, it made no sense again.
I always check the KM I get vs how much I paid to fill the tank. So far after a year, the average is still the same for me.
Gosh..they raised the price again on the diesel..and then now the MVT went up..it must be close to 300K for the GLS one now |

Hope no one had to go NnM south today because they were closed for some electrical work.
Does the radio/cd deck start giving trouble? would tht be under warranty?
My cousin was telling me tht his friend was getting problems ever so often with his deck not being able to change stations or have any function and when he switched off vehicle and then turn on it would start working.
I think he has the vehicle abt 7mths now.
I tell him to tell his friend go complain. |

Over a year now, no problem with the head unit. I probably played a CD 2 or 3 times, never loaded more than one disc...but so far its working as it should.
All that should be under the "general warranty" |

Well I have the diesel 4x4 version; in terms of fuel economy I get about 600Km from about $70.00 gas (thats usually about 3/4 tank) consisting of mainly highway runs, a/c on all the time.
The orginal tyres got about 40K from them, they lasted well and still had acceptable life on them, but with the driving I do, I rather safety. The Kumho ride well, not the best for top end speed, but in terms of comfort it works well.
In terms of the 4x4, I have not taken this "off the beaten path", I dont expect much from it as it's not made for that and the tyres I have would not work well on off-road terrain.
Maintenance so far is "ok" , just oil and filters so far as of 50K+.
One thing that surprised me was the engine noise in the cabin (well lack of) for a diesel and the acceleration(I expected it to be dead for a normally aspirated diesel engine).
All in all, it's a great little van,no regrets, if only it had powered seats, climate control and projector lights |
