Camden has more than enough space to allow this (even temporarily)

Hmmm interesting .... I guess something to look out for .... Exclamation

So, there will have to be some mods to the cars like ratios, boxes etc if races will be competitive. Hopes it comes off.

Camden has more than enough space to allow this (even temporarily)
..this will also enable short-course combinations...(karting, training, solodex, R.C.,etc)
rgds

more than enough space...
and you're still gonna have reasonable sized pit areas and parking?

if so you should share some more info..
would be nice to know what's being planned

wellll.....
for drags, abt 2500 feet to the east is not utilised (that's the whole facility).......
and I don't see any other event apart frm drags that require more that the presently alloted pit space......
but this is not new info........use of the facility is being maximised......

would love to see a circuit event pulled off there, and i'm sure some of the older ttasa people with speed promo have the expertise/experience to do such, at least wrt the course...pointers can be taken from TTKA and how they made their course...

Confused Confused

my apologies...but I never taught a lower level than o'levels (today's CXC)...
I surmise that a simple paved loop on opp sides of the existing runway (staggered, of course) will enable a loop, chicane & u-turn....

Link, just remember to leave the first 100 or so feet of the drag racing launch area usused and cordoned off so that the rubber already laid down is not degraded any further.

..
circuit cars use soft compound tyres which will minimise wear on built-up rubber...but.........the area u refer to is part of the planned circuit tour.......that is the compromise when facilities need tb cross-utilised Crying or Very sad

Circuit cars may use that in some cases but not all the time especially when slowdexers want to run as well. Iam sure there is a street class as well..

Well if there is no other option then go ahead, but sounds like a bad idea especially in the light of drag racers complaining that the launch area needs better traction coupled with an event coming up on the 9th and 10th.

You should seriously re-consider your plans as you may be cutting of your nose to save that mug #alien

TTASA in collaboration with Speed Promotions will stage a Speed show / drag race event at Camden Airfield on February 9th and 10th 2008 from 12 noon.

This is event is not part of the official competition drag racing competition for 2008, but more of a special event. There will be a one day knock-out competition for this event for prize mone-y. All interested competitors are asked to contact Jameer Ali at TTASA at 680-2058.

Attractions will include 2 super fast, 7 second drag bikes from Canada to contend against the fastest in T&T. Rails vs. Bikes?

more details to follow. Stay tuned!
