|
|
Decide to paint the headlights. Seems to give a more aggressive look than the standard silver finisher. The writeup available on some protege sites and it is actually as simple as it is shown.. The aftermarket pair of headlights that just have the black finisher is around $2600TT
Fortunately a padnah has two BJ headlights put dong so i borrowed them to use in the interim.
This dont look like no 2 hour job with baking, sanding and painting....
Bumper came off easy enuf 4 clips and 7 bolts per side..
Headlights have 3 bolts each.
After removing all the rubber parts, 2 screws holding the lens and the bulb, its in the oven to melt the glue.
The wife was a bit skeptical.. more about her oven than the headlights
After 15min at bout 200F, undo clips
Pull the lens off the housing
There's 2 small screws holding the insert/finisher to the plastic lens.
Remove these and pull the finisher out and there you go...
Will sand and do a first coat paint tomorrow.. |

| Sounds like something either escaping or being sucked in somewhere. Put the car in park and have someone rev it for you. Then you might be able to determine where the hissing sound coming from. |

Right. I just found out that the 1zz-fe MAF new from toyota is $1866 + VAT. Not bad for a new MAF. Try pricing one from SS. |

you ask about the celica own?price? cause i try my mommy own and i find mine better and mine working better on her car... so is to try the celica own now...
well yeah it go pull good from 80 -120 cause the extractors change your power band...and unless you making a highway run...on the road we driving between 80 and 140(160 for others.. ) so that is where the power is useful to us...
if it was the 4-1 your power band would shift to top end...highway run...
i had dynoed my b14 when i put in extractors and compared it to another car...same engine that didnt...and it showed that we briefly started out together and i just jumped away...plus my torque curve was smooth..while his was jerky and fluctuating... |

ghostbusters,
do the CAI first then see if you gettin the hesitation before you get the Celica MAF. I plan to do mine with 2.25 - 2.5 stainless piping. Dont think i should have MAF issues with that size pipe. |
