another issue is TTL's attitude towards the Trinidad & Tobago market apparently we're not sophisticated enough, I remember approaching them about the new Lexus with the hybrid engines and they told me they will not be importing them, I'm waiting on the launch of the LF-A to approach them again and see what they say

I've had that kinda discussion with them myself. Even when Honda's VTEC swarmed the market, and Evo 4s, 5s, 6s, and STIs were the talk of the town, TTTL did nothing while the AE110/1 was destroying the competition internationally. Did they bring a rally-spec car to show their versatility on the market? No. All their Corollas were basic, with the optional sun-roof and powered features. They watched their market share drop and then brought out a Yaris to respond to the competition.

At the end of the day, TTTL will NOT adhere to market demands. That's what RORO is for. And then when the RORO market does well, they (TTTL and other dealerships) are the first to clamour for restrictions on the RORO business.

X2

I was even trying to get them to bring the GTfour caldina and they blatantly refused any sort of shipping arrangement. I've already come to terms with the fact that i may have to jump ship. Since i've heard many rumors about toyota motor corp obtaining Subaru (dunno how factual it is) i've started leaning toward getting an STI impreza somewhere in the future.
in the mean time i've actually advised my sister not to order the new fielder RORO and buy a nissan Crying or Very sad sad isnt it.

hoss my family so loyal to toyota my sis was considering buying/ordering a toyota matrix. you know how much hell she woulda see with that for parts/service?
that is the kinda sheit loyal toyota fans have 2 go through now to get a decent road worthy toyota to buy. she spoke to my salesperson in toyota and all they have is the sirion and the yaris hatchback. nothing quite like the matrix. and she said she doesnt want an actual wagon. I fedup email toyota about this crap. ask anybody who know me... if I decide to leave toyota it doh have no hope for them cause me leavin toyota is like disowning family. but i fedup. they wasting people time now.

trd.sports.m, Yuh could always do like wrxdevil and say fawk de british (in this case tttl) and order in yuh caldina gt4 direct from Toyota Japan. Iz just yuh will have to look to the US and Japan/Malaysia for parts support.

But if the foreign used price on them ting so high I fraid to hear what the new price would be.

2009 corolla with a 2.2 liter engine

jus reading thru and would like 2 know when did toyota make a 2.2 for such? last time i heard of a toyota 2.2 is from the old celica and camry.

on another note, the best 4-banger toyota ever make (n/a) besides the 1.6 DOHC 20V VVT motor is the 1.8 DOHC 16V VVTL-i on the previous corolla/matrix xrs and last celica gts. the new VVT-i units in the corolla dates back to year 2000 and the 2.4 back to 2001 from the camry. It is sad that the previous corolla xrs is faster than the new one (they just drop the 2.4 unit from the camry) and still slower than a lancer 2.4, mazda3 2.3 & civic si 2.0 to name a few and the torsion beam rear suspension is a slap in the face yet again all in the name of cost cutting.

the only sporting delight toyota have is a Scion tC Supercharged, oh well best i buy a hyundai tiburon gt v6 and with the extra cash buy a stage 1 kit for it or sell the house and buy a Lexus IS-F Shocked

Why do all that when a 4AGE block still decimates the 1.6 category??

^^interesting stock for stock IMHO the Toyota 4A-GE is in no class with a Nissan SR16VE or a Honda B16A and all are 1600cc displacement.

ghostbusters Laughing actually, the extra 1 valve per cylinder 4-throttle head again IMHO (lets not forget that) is in no class with variable cam timing with variable intake and exhaust valve lift and duration.
